Not all expedition companies are the same. Our aim is to make the DofE Expedition section as Adventurous, Enjoyable and Educational for the group as possible.
The expedition section is a physical and mental challenge, that is as it should be, the DofE is, after all, an Achievement Award.
The level of challenge must be right for the group and the individuals therein, our staff will assess the abilities of the group as we work with them at practice and then guide them to set an appropriate route that will ensure they are able to rise to the occasion and accomplish something that will genuinely inspire them to achieve.
We will continue to train the participants through the practice expedition to ensure they are appropriately equipped for the challenge of the qualifying venture. During the journey we will work with them to ensure the learning experience is maximised, they will come to understand the value of teamwork and empathy in overcoming the challenges they face, we will highlight their individual strengths and weaknesses and how they can use them to benefit the team and work to improve upon their own skill set.
We will guide them to set a project (part of the 20 conditions) that will engage them with the environment through which they are travelling and thereby come to value the natural world they will have to in the future protect.
Above all we will try to make the expedition a real adventure for the groups by going above and beyond to make it so The expedition is not, and never should be, just a "tick in the box” or a sausage machine where groups all follow the same route and gain nothing from the process. It is an opportunity for Adventure and Enjoyment.
